Tasty Tuesday: I Had a Wonderful Experience on Nutrisystem!

I have absolutely loved my time on Nutrisystem. I’m really, really sad to see it all coming to an end. With the program, as of this week, I’ve lost 34 pounds – even! I don’t feel like it took a lot of effort, and in fact, I feel like it was actually pretty easy. Nutrisystem made it simple to just grab-and-go, and I didn’t have to worry so much about calorie counting. I just had to meet some general guidelines every day, and I was good to go. I loved how easy Nutrisystem made everything!

So what have I learned by being on Nutrisystem?

1) Even if I thought it was impossible, I COULD modify my meals to be different than others and still work for weight-loss. Losing weight didn’t have to mean ignoring social eating events. When my friends wanted to go out to Burger King or somewhere, I’d either have a salad or eat my Nutrisystem at home then only have a value fries at the restaurant. The Nutrisystem guide even taught me what types of food to look for when eating out, and I never really felt deprived while eating out – especially when I realized how easy it is to mindlessly sip water while socializing with others.

2) Water is SO important. I never really thought too much about how important water is, but I do now! My body feels all weird if I don’t get the right amount of water, and you’d be surprised how easy to stay full it is when I have the proper amount of water. I can easily have a pouch of tuna now and two glasses of water, and I’ll be full. On less than 200 calories! Having the good amount of water with each of the meals seems to make a huge difference, and understanding that helps me stay full much longer than I usually would expect to stay full. It took Nutrisystem’s stringent water guidelines to help me realize how important that was. Plus, while it seemed hard to take in so much water at first, now it’s just second-nature!

3) Portion size makes a HUGE difference. One of the big things I learned from Nutrisystem was all about portion size. Nutrisystem food is delicious food like waffles, ice cream, and more, but it ALL is portion-controlled! And that’s the secret. Once I learned about portion size and what was all proper, I learned that everything can be delicious – even on a diet. I still will have a Lindt Lindor Chocolate Truffle some nights. But ONLY one because I understand that even the single one has 70 calories. So portion control makes a huge difference.

4) Quality of food means a LOT. Don’t get me wrong – I love my chocolate snacks as much as the next person, but the quality and type of food I eat seems to make a huge difference. For example, I could have an entire Nutrisystem meal OR I could have two Oreo cookies. Yeah, it’s no competition there. One will fill me up and one will not. So while the calories in versus calories out formula is what leads to the weight loss, it took Nutrisystem’s attention to calories and details to really show me how important the quality of food is to my fullness and diet.

Overall, I’m just so happy with the experience I had on Nutrisystem. The entire program worked amazingly for me, and I’m thirty pounds lighter than I had been before! And I’m even CLOSER to my goal! I’m hoping to be at my goal weight by the summer, so I can relax and know that I’ve done a wonderful job. And I’m so happy that Nutrisystem had a part in helping me reach that goal. I’d recommend it to anyone.
